6 Reasons Your IBPS Photo Gets Rejected

1. File Size Not Within 20KB – 50KB

IBPS has a strict requirement: photo file size must be between 20KB and 50KB. Phone camera photos are typically 2MB–5MB, which is 100x too large. Even studio photos are usually above 200KB and need compression.

✅ Solution: Use a precision compressor with exact KB targeting. Set target to 50KB for IBPS.

2. Wrong Format – Only JPG/JPEG Accepted

IBPS portal accepts only JPG or JPEG format. iPhone users often have HEIC format photos, and screenshots are PNG. Both will be rejected immediately by the upload system.

✅ Solution: Convert your image to JPG format before uploading. Our converter preserves quality.

3. Incorrect Dimensions – Must Be 200×230 Pixels

IBPS requires the photo to be approximately 200×230 pixels (3.5cm × 4.5cm at 150 DPI). If your photo dimensions don't match, the portal either rejects it or distorts the image on your admit card and call letter.

✅ Solution: Resize using our Dimension Fixer to exactly 200×230 pixels for IBPS.

4. Wrong Background Color

IBPS requires a white or light-colored plain background. Photos taken indoors with colored walls, or outdoors with nature backgrounds, will be rejected at the document verification stage.

✅ Solution: Re-take your photo against a plain white wall. Use our Background Check tool to verify.

5. Face Not Clearly Visible

Your face must be clearly visible with both ears showing. Common issues: wearing spectacles with glare, hair covering forehead, face too small in frame, or shadows on face. The photo must be a recent passport-style front-facing portrait.

✅ Solution: Ensure proper lighting, front-facing pose, and face occupying 60-80% of the frame.

6. Signature Upload Issues

IBPS also requires a scanned signature (10KB–20KB in JPG format). Common problems: signature too faint, background not white, file too large, or wrong format. Signature must be done with black ink on white paper.

✅ Solution: Use our Signature Cleaner to make signatures crisp with clean white background.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the exact photo size required for IBPS PO 2026?expand_more
IBPS PO 2026 requires a photo between 20KB and 50KB in JPG/JPEG format. The dimensions should be approximately 200×230 pixels (3.5cm × 4.5cm) with a white or light-colored background. The photo must be a recent passport-size photograph.
Can I use the same photo for IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk?expand_more
Yes, both exams have the same photo requirements (20KB–50KB, JPG format, passport size). However, the photo must be recent (taken within the last 6 months) and clearly show your face. If your IBPS PO photo was taken recently, you can use the same one for IBPS Clerk.
Why does IBPS reject my photo even after compressing it?expand_more
Common reasons include: the compressed file is still outside 20-50KB range, the format changed from JPG to PNG during editing, the dimensions don't match (should be approximately 200×230 pixels), or the photo quality degraded too much during compression. Use a precision compressor that targets exact KB values.
What happens if my IBPS photo is rejected after submitting the form?expand_more
If the photo is rejected during online submission, you'll see an error message and need to re-upload. If it's accepted during submission but rejected during document verification (at the exam center), your candidature may be cancelled. Always validate your photo before final submission using our Photo Validator.
